Crysis 3 è il terzo capitolo della serie di sparatutto in prima persona Crytek e ci riporta ancora una volta tra le macere di New York.
Nel 2047, Il "Profeta" continua la ricerca della verità dietro la Cell Corporation e i suoi Nanodome: gigantesche strutture costruite per coprire le città e apparentemente per proteggere i cittadini, ma che celano la volontà di controllare il mondo da parte della corporazione. Il protagonista torna dunque a New York City e trova la città completamente diversa, radicamente trasformata in un ecosistema composito in cui la natura ha preso il sopravvento. All'interno della "Liberty Dome" di New York trovano spazio ora 7 diverse regioni caratterizzate da ambientazioni differenti, chiamate "Meraviglie della Natura", tutte a loro modo affascinanti ma altrettanto letali.
Il protagonista si deve armare di nuovi equipaggiamenti, tra cui un arco composito e un nuovo modello di nanosuit, per avventurarsi all'interno di questo misterioso mondo ricco di contrasti tra natura e tecnologia avanzata, elementi umani e alieni, con la fazione aliena dei Ceph che ha ormai preso il sopravvento.
